The lines and facial folds that disappear after a smile or expression are called dynamic wrinkles. In time these will become etched into the skin, thus becoming static or deep wrinkles. A filler will smooth out superficial and moderate wrinkles, give lips a more sensual appearance, and adding volume to the cheeks. The most common type of filler is a hyaluronic acid filler, a natural substance which is abundant throughout the human body. Juvederm® and Teosayl® are two of the hyaluronic acid fillers that we use at Beechwood Cosmetic & Laser because of their natural properties and longevity. Hyaluronic acid is a substance that is already present in the skin, naturally working to retain moisture, and to support elastin and collagen. As we age our bodies reabsorb the hyaluronic acid in the skin, causing our skin to deflation, descention and deterioration. Hyaluronic acid restores volume in the cheeks and lips that has been lost. Juvederm® and Teosayl® are the newest, purest and longest lasting hyaluronic acids.
Radiesse® is a calcium based longer lasting filler that's natural to the body. Longer term fillers contain microscopic particles that rest in the skin and stimulates collagen production. The longest lasting filler is Artesense®, which contains microspheres that are smaller than a grain of sand and safely remain in your skin forever.
Fillers can be used to reduce the appearance of lines around your nose and mouth, plump your lips and restore lost volume to your cheeks and jawline.
